I don’t recommend putting a clove headband on to try to boost your sex life!  I have heard about “a girl being so ugly she has to hang a porkchop around her neck to get the dog to play with her.” but this couture garland thig is just stupid! 

Garlic has long been used as a spice and has been reported to possess medicinal and pharmacological properties. Several studies have indicated that garlic can lower blood sugar, blood pressure, and cholesterol, but what is really exciting is what it can raise!  Indeed!  Testosterone and the body parts (ED) that need it are raised when you take Garlic.

A recent report  looked at the effects of the new female sexual dysfunction patch called Intrinsa.  This patch which is being nicknamed the female Viagra works by giving women a boost of the male hormone testosterone which is sometimes lacking in women who have a low libido.

A new report which was written by Dr. Sheryl Kingsberg looked at over 130 women who said that their desire to have sex was greatly reduced after they lost their ovaries. Two men and a woman, were all admitted to Royal Darwin Hospital in the past two months after taking Nangen Zengzhangsu, a Chinese medication which claimed to enhance sexual function.It is marketed on websites as 100 per cent herbal, but contains ingredients such as donkey kidney and deer antler. It is also claimed to be a natural alternative to Viagra with no side effects.  

Remember, even though something is 100% ”herbal“  or “all-natural” doesn’t mean it isn’t strong, or even dangerous to some.  See what deer antlers do to deer!  Basically, herbs are just raw medicines. 

ED can be a mental catastrophe,  extremely frustrating, and a frightening experience for all..

But, be carefulordering stuff off the internet, especially those products that have amazing claims of fantastic nights in bed!  Thumbs down, we don’t want to lose a life over a lost erection!

Gynecomastia - Male Breast Development (aka Man Boobs, Moobies, Bitch Tit)

Androgel, or any testosterone product (cream, patch, pill, or injection) can turn out to be a disaster for men (and doctors) who don’t know all about hormones and how they work.  You must block estrogen using an aromatase inhibitor or you risk breast development and many other problems!  In my practice, I see tons of guys who complained to their doctors about low sex drive, and they were promptly given a sample and prescription for a year’s worth of cream.  This is much worse than if you did nothing!   I single out Androgel, because it is the most common offender of boobs (in the gym they are always called “Bitch Tits”) in men because of the convenient pump.  That convenience quickly turns to more than an inconvenience!  Does anyone have the number of that plastic surgeon that does breast reduction in men?  1 800 No Estrogen Blocker.

The Testosterone Cascade

The Aromatase Enzyme-  (see the left side of the diagram) Here’s how testosterone is converted to active metabolites some good – some bad (for men).  It is the estradiol that causes many problems for men, not just “man boobs”, but it can cause bloating, emotional outbursts, tears, depression, love of the color pink , and leads to loss of the ability to keep an erection (ED).  The sad part is, the testosterone does increase desire and erections, but the estrogen makes it impossible to do anything.  I am not a conspiracy freak, but I wonder if Androgel and Viagra have teamed up on the men of this world?

Erection Failure (dysfunction) will make you want to hide your head under the covers

There was a study done in Boston a few years back that estimated over 52% of the entire male population in the United States between the ages of 40 and 70 suffer from mild to moderate erectile dysfunction (ED) .  There is a very strong association between ED and psychological factors, including depression, low levels of dominance, and anger.  Also, changing jobs, partners, patterns,  increased work demands,or if you are experiencing lagging hormones (low libido), or nutrient deficiencies- will contribute to your problem.  I speak to my patients daily about these topics, and must not be so focused on one thing.  You must have a balanced life to have great sex!

Part of the process of erection involves the release of nitric oxide (NO) in vasculature as a result of sexual stimulation. NO activates enzymes leading to smooth muscle relaxation in blood vessels supplying the corpus cavernosum, resulting in increased blood flow and an erection.  Without NO, it is a No Go!  So, let’s review a bit about Nitrous Oxide, and then I can show you what can be done to increase it.

Nitrous oxide was first produced by a minister, Joseph Priestly, in 1772, who recognized that this gas helped to relieve pain he had at the time.  It took 50 years of playful interest in this “laughing gas” before it was looked upon as a serious way to anesthetize people who needed surgery.  200 years later we now know the value of this molecule as it affects muscle development, reproductive capability, and many other systems. 

So, if we can increase NO,  the enzyme, cyclic guanisine monophosphate (cGNP)  will increase which makes everything work exceedingly well.  Medications, like the “Blue Pill”Viagra block the enzyme that degrades cGNP so it stays around longer, making you stay around longer.
